Cuomo proposes felony crime for airport worker assault”

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards introduced Cuomo at Monday's rally and hailed the governor's proposal "at a time when access to reproductive rights is under attack".

New York State is setting up a hotline, and providing legal assistance, to those affected by President Trump's travel ban, as well as their families. In response to confusion over how the order is carried out, or prevented by federal judicial orders, the governor has set up a hotline for families who are trying to locate a relative who might be stranded.

Cuomo was then asked at the conference about the protests Saturday night at the airport railing against Trump's executive order.

The launch of the hotline follows action Cuomo took on Saturday on refugees who were detained at NY airports. This comes after Cuomo directed the Port Authority, the Department of State and Davis's office yesterday to jointly explore all legal options to help anyone detained at NY airports, and to ensure that the rights of refugees are protected under the law.

Andrew Cuomo (D) sent state officials to protect the massive groups of demonstrators gathering outside John F. Kennedy International Airport on Saturday evening in protest of President Trump's immigration ban.

To pass a state constitutional amendment in NY, two separately elected Legislatures would have to pass the measure, meaning the earliest it could be put before voters is 2019.

New York's abortion law actually was passed several years before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Roe v. Wade in 1973.

NY first legalized abortion as a state in 1970.

The governor's desire to make abortion legal through the ninth month of pregnancy is so out of the mainstream and was wisely blocked by common sense lawmakers past year.

"We will not lose this nation's soul and we will not lose the progress of the women's movement and we will not allow disrespect of any American", Cuomo said.
