Students, faculty express concerns over possible Affordable Care Act repeal”

Trump has vowed to repeal Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act.

In a Fox News interview with Bill O'Reilly, Trump said the process is "complicated" and "maybe it'll take till sometime into next year". Hatch, during a speech before the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, also endorsed Speaker Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) plan of offering a framework for the GOP's replacement plan at the same time as the underlying law is repealed, and then debate other replacement provisions separately.

"We are going to be done legislating with respect to health care and Obamacare this year", Ryan said.

"I would like to say by the end of the year, at least the rudiments, but we should have something within the year and the following year", the president explained.

"It statutorily takes a while to get", Trump said. "That's what the American people expect us to do - and they expect us to do it quickly".

The split comes as Republicans are taking steps to repeal the ACA in Congress while also attempting to draft and coalesce around a replacement. But it's not clear when such a replacement would go into effect, or what form it would take. Now we find that, even while obstructing any improvement and ritually voting repeatedly to overturn the ACA, they were not developing an alternative plan!

Despite the rhetoric, it is unclear how Republicans plan to repeal Obamacare beyond reconciliation, where any Obamacare repeal will require the support of Democrats. In the moments right after my face slammed into the pavement and right before my shoulder could pop out of its socket, all I could think was "Oh God, just what I needed, another bill!"

Senator Lamar Alexander mentioned in one of his hearings that Obamacare could be considered as the collapsing bridge since it has not been able to gain much stronghold.

Alice Allen of Missouri, 67, who is semi-retired, protests in the Hart Senate Building against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 in Washington, D.C. "The question is how long does it take to implement the full replacement of Obamacare". "Frankly, we think a lot of them will opt for what we call the better choice, which is far different from Obamacare".

Yes, the GOP has been screaming about the necessity of repealing Obamacare for the better part of a decade, but there are growing signs that in actuality, the party isn't ready to rip away insurance from 20 million Americans. "But we should have something within the year and the following year", Trump stated. "We committed to the American people to repeal every tax, every mandate, the regulations, and to defund Planned Parenthood".

Matheson added that ThedaCare's emphasis is more on delivering affordable and quality health care, regardless of someone's ability to pay, while the Affordable Care Act focused on health insurance reform.
