Ex-Eagles QB Vince Young Hires Agent, Hopes To Play More Football”

The most important angle regarding Vince Young wanting to play in the NFL again isn't that the former University of Texas QB wants to play football again. Longtime NFL agent Leigh Steinberg tweeted Wednesday afternoon that he signed Young, who hopes to make a return to the league.

In that span, he completed 58 percent of his passes for 8,964 yards.

Young had his moments after being selected with the third overall pick in the 2006 draft, compiling a 30-17 record with the Tennessee Titans.

A former Davey O'Brien Award victor, Young won a national championship for the Longhorns with a Rose Bowl victory he engineered over USC.

He was released in 2011 and signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played in six games, three of which were starts. He also ran for 552 yards and seven touchdowns.

As a junior at Texas, he won the Davey O'Brien award for the best collegiate quarterback and he finished runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Reggie Bush, who later vacated his trophy. He's been with the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns for stints over the last few years, but I don't remember him making it past the preseason.

He was a legend at the University of Texas, but his National Football League career was anything but a success. As a prep, he was named the state 5A Player of the Year in 2001.
