LG has also upgraded its own UI to UX 6.0 to take into account the added benefits. The Korean giant is of the opinion that the new square GUI will enable many new and old features to split the 18:9 display cleanly into 1:1 ratio squares.

Last month, we saw reports talking about the upcoming G6 from LG using a display with a unique aspect ratio.

The improved camera UX allows users to take and review pictures simultaneously, while a new tool lets users divide the screen into two identical squares with the Square Camera feature.

Also, LG G6 is introducing UX improvements to the multitasking feature of the smartphone.

The LG G6's UX 6.0 takes advantage of the additional screen space with a new Square Camera tool which divides the display into two identical flawless squares.

When LG is gearing up to launch a new flagship smartphone, it typically drops teasers and announcements for features of the new device in the weeks leading up to its reveal. Users of this device will be able to shoot in 1:1 mode which is among the most commonly used format on social media apps.

But the fact remains that even though the hi-res 5.7-inch display will look and feel richer in addition to enhancing multi-tasking, it remains to be seen whether content designed for more traditional aspect ratios and resolutions is handled as efficiently. The wider viewing angle will allow more information to be loaded on-screen during searches and e-book reading. LG has also announced a new, saturated Food Mode for those who like to take photographs of their meals. There are "endless" combinations available, says LG.

LG UX 6.0 will come with a Square Camera feature which will divide the 18:9 display into two identical ideal squares that will allow users to shoot image as well as review them in the adjacent window.

LG will likely offer even more teasers on the LG G6 before its February 26 press conference. For example, you can type a memo on one side while surfing the web on the other, or by turning the G6 horizontally will display the calendar in the left window while a detailed schedule will appear on the right.
