Snap Inc. had been planning on making this move for quite some time and it even mentioned the plan in its IPO statements that it will "significantly broaden the distribution of Spectacles".

The filing further stated: "We expect to experience production and operating costs related to Spectacles that will exceed the related revenue in the near future". Snapchat's spectacles are an wonderful innovation which allow you to make 10-second videos right away and then upload it to snapchat as your story through wireless connection.

Snapchat, whose parent company Snap Inc. The spokesperson said, "As Evan [Spiegel, co-founder] shared in his interview with the WSJ, when we launched, the idea was: 'We're going to take a slow approach to rolling them out, ' says Spiegel".
