Jamie Chung to Play Blink in Fox's Marvel Pilot From Bryan Singer

Jamie Chung to Play Blink in Fox's Marvel Pilot From Bryan Singer”

Jamie Chung will play the teleporting mutant Clarice Fong aka Blink (Her last name has been changed from Ferguson in the comics to Fong in the series) in a regular role in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men project.

Jamie Chung has joined the cast of Fox's untitled Marvel action adventure series, TheWrap has learned. Nix has said that the TV series will connect to the movies.

"Clarice's naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life", reads Marvel's description. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly "home", Clarice is slowly becoming herself again.

The actress joins the previously announced Blair Redford (Satisfaction), who has been cast as fellow mutant Sam, the "strong-headed leader of the underground network". With a hostile government hot on their heels, the family goes on the run and links up with an underground network of mutants. The untitled Fox superhero series announced previous year has just cast its first mutant. In the film, Blink didn't end up doing so well in the bleak future, but since that was all undone by a time travelling Wolverine, that means the current X-Men universe has a version of the character running around, alive and well.

She's the second actor to join the still-untitled pilot. If they start casting other Exiles characters like Morph, Nocturne, and Sunfire, we'll know this series is at least partially based on that comic series. It seems unlikely given the talent used to portray those characters on the big screen; however, it could be that Fox takes the same route with them that they took with Blink, and recast them.

More recently, a listing arrived on industry site My Entertainment World, teasing that production on an X-Men TV series will begin in Dallas, Texas on March 13th 2017.
