The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild patched with DLC support

According to the producer, the team that develops 2D Zelda games like "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" wasn't busy developing "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild".

The review that matters, of course.

The world of Hyrule is full of side missions and odd jobs for you to complete which makes it hard making any meaningful progress with the story. This is sort of like that'.

Next up could be Breath of the Wild update 1.2.0 or 1.1.1 so let us know when you see either version live!

Though there's 28 games included in the game, it initially limits you to just eight in order to show you the ropes, which I found particularly confusing while trying to skim through everything on offer for the first time.

After the announcement earlier this month that Nintendo would be holding a presentation at GDC on the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the event has come and gone - and left quite a few tidbits in its wake.

It's here! Nintendo's long-awaited console, the Switch, officially goes on sale Friday, March 3, but we got our hands on an early review unit. A direct portable sequel for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" could also work as Nintendo have done in the past with Windwaker and the Phantom Hourglass. It's that the evolution in question has required Nintendo to finally treat its audience like intelligent people'. While a lot of the anticipation is for the console itself, there're a couple of launch titles causing a lot of buzz themselves.

Review aggregator Metacritic has Breath of the Wild on a 98, putting it just behind older sibling Ocarina of Time (1998), Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater 2 (2000), and Grand Theft Auto IV (2008). It functions as kind of a testing ground for the puzzles and mechanics that would eventually be incorporated into Breath of the Wild. It features a hero, Link, who has been asleep for 100 years ever since a dark enemy known as Calamity Ganon took over the land of Hyrule.

TrustedReviews was praiseworthy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's beautifully realised, and huge open-world. "We have over 100 Shrines, and because we wanted players to have fun find finding the dungeons and Shrines, there is actually a compass item users can use to help them find the Shrines".

It's worth noting that whilst the game runs and looks great on the Nintendo Switchtablet (which I'm led to believe outputs at 720p), I did notice some performance issues when playing on the TV. In Breath of the Wild, you'll still be traveling on horseback, but you'll have to catch and tame your companion - and they aren't invulnerable.

'Nintendo may have changed so many long-standing traditions of the Zelda franchise, but the spirit of discovery is as strong as it's ever been no matter your age.
