Pro-Trump supporters, counter-protesters clash in Berkeleyā€¯

At one point, Berkeley police released an alert to quash a rumor spreading online that someone had died of a stab wound at the rally. "Mr. Trump is a patriot". "He's put his life at risk for us".

Charles Reed and Jane Fornal drove into Palm Springs from Westminster after seeing something about the event online. Organizer Jennifer Drabbant said there have been so many protests against Trump that she and others wanted to show there are people who support him.

Trump supporters say they want to send a positive message. On top of rallying for Trump, Worthington says it's time for a divided country to come together.

"The supporters are great", she said, "it's the opposition that's being obscene".

"Just look at what President Trump has accomplished in weeks since Inauguration Day", Ruthie Hendrycks said.

There was a very clear message that Trump's supporters are exhausted of all of the protests against the president.

Some hoped a day of peaceful gathering could heal the increasing partisan divide that has sorted liberals and conservatives into opposing camps that interact with one another less and less.

Rallies were scheduled in about 50 cities, including Las Vegas, according to organizers.

A rally at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus turned into a clash of words when Trump protesters shouted "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA" over the supporters" "U-S-A' chants. Demonstrators on both sides even exchanged profanities with one another outside of Trump's Mar-a-Lago refuge. At some demonstrations, the number of Trump's opponents almost matched the supporters.

In the nation's capital, more than a hundred people gathered near the Washington Monument, a short walk from the White House, although the president himself was again in Florida for the weekend.

An estimated 1,200-1,500 attended the rally.

The Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration and Immigrant Rights and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) - announced a counter-protest to the pro-Trump demo, stating its objective is to "confront and defeat the Trump movement" with "no platform for fascists and white supremacists".

According to theA, Berkeley police arrested 10 rally attendees. Describing himself as a libertarian more than a conservative, he said he had seen what happened at the Milo Yiannopoulos protests in Berkeley on February 1.

Supporters of President Donald Trump gathered Saturday in downtown San Diego for a march aimed at showing solidarity with the POTUS.

Zach Frailey said he came out to voice his concerns about Trump's border wall.

"We've got a president that is actually following down to the letter what he promised he would do", said Kaufmann.

"After this, I think people will take the hint", said former U.S. Marine David Moore, 42, a participant in the rally.

Chanting reverberated through the Capitol rotunda during the dueling protests.

The Star Tribune reports there were minor scuffles during the rally, which were diffused by other protesters and police, who separated the two groups. Five people were arrested on charges of battery and four on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon - including one who allegedly possessed a dagger.
