Google has confirmed its Kaggle acquisition

Google has confirmed its Kaggle acquisition”

This is what Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google parent company Alphabet, suggested in a speech at the company's Google Cloud Next conference on Wednesday.

From 8th to 10th March, the Google Cloud Next '17 is being held, an event where the latest Google Cloud research and projects are exposed, with a special emphasis on the potential of artificial intelligence.

When people say data is the "new oil", they tend to mean there are massive opportunities there, making it hugely valuable. "It's changing how people architect their information and use their data".

Firebase Storage (which is now called Cloud Storage for Firebase), too, is getting an update and is now aligned with Google's other cloud storage solutions. "Ninety-five percent of the world's data is not in the cloud", she told the Wall Street Journal.

"Cloud is just a transformational technology", Greene said on stage, according to reports from Bloomberg. The company noted 277 customers acquired on its AWS service over the previous nine months, with 60% of these choosing the higher tier managed services option. For example, combining Gmail with SAP Cloud for Customer will enable users to link email conversations, search for duplicate contacts and create new tasks directly from Gmail.

"Now we are just doing it for businesses".

Bernd Leukert, Executive Board Member at SAP, stated in a company release, "I am excited to announce the general availability of SAP HANA on GCP to deliver real-time insights and run mission-critical applications and analytics on a scalable and secure cloud infrastructure".

During a pre-conference gathering, vice president of global partner sales and strategic alliances, Bertrand Yansouni outlined "We're increasing our investment in many of our existing partner incentive programs, as well as introducing new incentives to support the entire customer lifecycle". The company is preparing to move more than 150,000 employees to G Suite during the coming weeks. As part of the partnership, SAP will retain the control and be the custodian of all the data stored in the HANA database on the Google Cloud Platform.

In addition, Google is also now extending the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service to cover Firebase.

"Google has a long history working with the largest media companies in the world, and we help them find value from unstructured data like video", Fei-Fei Li, chief scientist of AI and machine learning at Google Cloud, wrote in a blog post.

"We must lower the barriers of entry to AI and make it available to the largest community of developers, users and enterprises, so they can apply it to their own unique needs".
