Kaspersky Lab paid former national security adviser more than $10000

Kaspersky Lab paid former national security adviser more than $10000”

In a new letter today, Cummings charged that Flynn had "violated the Constitution" by accepting such payments from "an agent of a global adversary that attacked our democracy", an apparent reference to US intelligence agencies' assessment that Russian government-directed hackers had pilfered emails of the Democratic National Committee and Secretary Hillary Clinton's campaign manager John Podesta. But he had not disclosed the amount and said he was paid by his speakers' bureau.

Flynn, who was receiving classified briefings as part of the campaign, published a controversial op-ed shortly after Trump's election calling for better U.S. -Turkey relations. Its founder, Eugene Kaspersky, denies that it has stocked the firm with those with close ties to Russian intelligence. Those documents show Flynn earned $530,000 past year from the firm while serving as a top adviser to Trump's campaign. An additional $11,250 was paid to Leading Authorities, Flynn's speaking agents.

Other documents obtained by the congressional committee show Flynn was paid $11,250 each by a Russian air cargo company and a Russian cybersecurity company, reported the Wall Street Journal.

Cummings suggests that the payments may have violated the Constitution's Emoluments Clause. In addition to appearing on newscasts as a commentator, Flynn, the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, had attended a gala in Moscow marking RT's 10th anniversary in December 2015, where he sat next to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I can not recall any time in our nation's history when the president selected as his national security advisor someone who violated the Constitution by accepting tens of thousands of dollars from an agent of a global adversary that attacked our democracy", Cummings wrote in a letter dated Thursday to Trump, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey.

The CIA found in a report on Russia's actions during the 2016 presidential campaign that RT engaged in "a Kremlin-directed campaign to undermine faith in the USA government".

Last week, Flynn registered as a foreign agent with the Justice Department, acknowledging that the work he did on behalf of a Turkish-owned company during the transition may have benefited the Turkish government.

Trump forced Flynn's resignation last month over misleading statements Flynn made to Vice President Pence about his conversations with Russia's ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak.

"I'm not a G2 guy, but I feel like I'd remember receiving "$68,000 in fees and expenses from Russia-related entities in 2015", including $11,250 from a cybersecurity firm rumored to be connected to USA election hacking.

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cumming, D.

"As a private company, Kaspersky Lab has no ties to any government, but the company is proud to collaborate with the authorities of many countries, as well as global law enforcement agencies in the fight against cybercrime", she said.

On Nov. 24, 2015, Leading Authorities asked RT to provide Flynn with a list of who would be at his table with his son and "executive officer" at his private consulting firm, Flynn Intel Group, Michael G. Flynn.
